Re: Angst
For the first time in a long while, Skyler didn't have nightmares filled with various deaths. Instead, he dreamt of warm lips and soft glances and words of endearment. He couldn't remember who he was sharing these moments with, the face a blur, but they felt familiar in a way that made his chest ache.
He woke up crying, and didn't know why, a heavy sadness pressing down on him.

Re: Angst
Evan woke to the sounds of Skyler moving about, frowning when he saw him crying and going to sit on the bed. "Skyler? Did you have another nightmare?" He asked quietly, a hand hovering over the human's.

Re: Angst
Skyler rubbed his face, looking confused. "I don't think so. They were happy dreams? I don't know why I'm crying." He frowned, then startled when there was a knock at his door.
"Skyler, sweetie, are you awake?" Came his mother's concerned voice, holding a hint of anxiety that it usually didn't have.

Re: Angst
Evan jumped at the sound, hiding behind Skyler even though he knew the woman wouldn't see him. "She sounds worried or bothered by something.."

Re: Angst
Skyler sighed as he pulled himself out of bed to greet his mom with a small smile. "What's up?"
"Honey, we need to talk," she said, as gently as possible, though Skyler still felt his stomach drop at those words, a million terrible possibilities racing through his mind. "Sit down, sweetie."
Sky did as he was told, sitting back down heavily on his bed, hands clutching his knees. "What's wrong?"

Re: Angst
Evan bit his lip and could do nothing but watch, wrapping his arms around Skyler to try and bring him a little comfort from what was about to happen.

Re: Angst
Skyler's mother took his hands in both of hers, giving them a squeeze. "I... heard you talking to someone. Last night," she started softly, frowning when Skyler tensed up. "Baby, are you... seeing things? Things that aren't there? People?"
"I..." Sky glanced around, very obviously looking for a way to escape the conversation and the concerned gaze of his mom. "Its not--I mean--Mom, I--"
"Sweetie, please, tell me the truth. Its okay."
Skyler's shoulders slumped as he looked first at Evan, then at his feet. "...Yeah. I just, I know I'm crazy, but I thought that maybe if I ignored it, it would be okay?" The tension and nerves were making him nauseous, and he had to pull away from his mother to wrap his arms around himself. He didn't want to look at her, to see her judging expression and know that she thought he was absolutely nuts.
"Honey, no, you're not--you're not crazy. Maybe a little ill, yes, but not crazy."

Re: Angst
Evan slipped away to hide in a darker corner of the room, trying to will himself away before he could hurt his soul mate more than he already had. "Maybe this is a good thing, Sky. Y-You can get proper help this way,"

Re: Angst
"What... what should we do?"
"I set up an appointment for you with this nice doctor at the state hospital. They'll be able to help you there."
It didn't take long, after that, to gather up Sky's belongings--clothes, art supplies, an iPod, his softest blanket--and get him to the aforementioned hospital.
It stood, looming like some sort of bad omen, bars on most of the windows and the exterior painted a bleak off-whitish grey. Broad lettering across the side read 'Newbrook Psychiatric Hospital.' It brought to mind thoughts of lobotomies and haunted cells.

Re: Angst
Evan lingered close to Skyler, but tried to help break their connection by remaining distant and quiet. Now, though, he kept close to the human, getting plenty of bad vibes from the bleak-looking hospital. "This doesn't look too bad, r-right?"
